Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Broadcast Systems Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team at the State of Nebraska. As a key member of our technical operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance, conducting research, and implementing large projects related to digital broadcast systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance to the Director of Transmissions on all FCC required documents and assist with the integration of digital equipment with legacy broadcast systems.
  • Conduct research on technical projects, including finding alternative vendors and products, technical specifications, and quotes from various vendors.
  • Assist in the implementation of large projects, including providing pre-installation documentation, installing equipment, and creating as-built documents.
  • Assist with Nebraska Public Media building projects, including moving equipment, installing cable, and pulling out old cables.
  • Assist with the technical aspects of purchasing documents, including creating bid specifications and evaluating bid responses.
  • Implement and maintain a training program for Maintenance or Transmission personnel.
  • Implement and maintain various database programs for the Maintenance Department.
  • Maintain the Transmission or Production technical systems documentation program and develop Standard Operating Procedures for Transmission systems and personnel.
  • Work in the shop troubleshooting and repairing various electronic equipment.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of the agency's equipment, systems, goals, and objectives, as well as FCC policies, practices, and rules.
  • Ability to conduct training, diagnose and solve problems, work as a team leader/member, communicate effectively, and use computer applications such as CAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Filemaker, and alpha.
Qualifications
  • Associates degree in electronics and experience in digital TV broadcast, RF systems, IP technology, electronics, and design and diagnostic experience.
