Position Overview:

  • The Robotic Field Engineer will oversee all operational challenges related to system software, robotics, structures, and stations, while prioritizing daily tasks at client locations.
  • Collaborate with the support team to proactively identify operational issues and address them during scheduled downtimes.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a hands-on approach, with electro-mechanical skills and familiarity with Linux/command line, while effectively managing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee system operations and resolve issues on a daily basis.
  • Communicate effectively with on-site operations and support teams.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain all robotic and structural issues that disrupt operations.
  • Gather information on identified system issues daily and relay feedback to the support team.
  • Implement recommendations from the alert support team and provide updates accordingly.
  • Execute any engineering upgrades or reworks as recommended.
  • Complete quality checklists and submit them to the designated alert lead.
  • Ensure all electro-mechanical tools and spare parts are maintained in optimal condition.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move totes weighing up to 49 pounds.
  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching above and below the waist.
  • Capable of lifting parts and tools averaging 20 pounds, with occasional weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders and gangways.
  • Engage in continual standing and/or walking, averaging 2 miles daily.
Operational Support & Customer Service:
  • Promote and maintain good housekeeping practices.
  • This position requires a flexible shift schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Self-motivated with a strong customer-centric approach.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an electro-mechanical technician, with an associate degree in Robotics, Mechanical, or Electrical fields, or a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in automated systems and software controls, electrical and electronic principles, and technical skills including familiarity with Linux, Java, XML, SQL, databases, and PLC programming.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Degree focused on Robotics, Mechanical, or Electrical fields.
  • Ability to lead and influence team members.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workloads.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with peers, management, contractors, and vendors.
  • Leadership experience and the ability to mentor others.
