This role is designated for a Level 4 (Management) Manufacturing Engineer overseeing the Test and Pack division. The Senior Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor acts as a hands-on leader for the technical team, which includes engineers and technicians responsible for all processes and equipment utilized in the Proof Test, Leak Test, and Packaging sectors. This position entails guiding technical experts within the designated area, ensuring the smooth operation of the production line. Responsibilities include collaborating with maintenance teams for equipment repairs and engaging with Process Engineering on matters related to process and equipment design. The Senior Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor is accountable for the Work Instruction package relevant to their area and plays a crucial role in training personnel on these instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee processes and equipment in the Proof Test, Leak Test, and Packaging sectors.
  • Develop solutions for challenges associated with new and existing products, processes, materials, equipment, and testing.
  • Act as a technical lead in the conception, planning, and execution of projects.
  • Communicate findings through written reports and presentations in group settings.
  • Design, implement, and monitor projects within established performance criteria.
  • Coordinate technical matters with personnel requiring collaborative efforts.
  • Perform roles and responsibilities independently.
  • Manage development projects effectively.
  • Guide and oversee the work of junior Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Lead a subgroup of Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians.
  • Assist in formulating individual objectives to align with departmental goals.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the interaction between Manufacturing Engineers and other business functions.
  • Contribute to the development of processes and controls.
Education and Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Agricultural disciplines.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficient in:
    1. Material and process development.
    2. Manufacturing and design of composite materials.
    3. Design for cost efficiency and manufacturability.
    4. Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
    5. Knowledge of regulations, codes, and standards.
    6. Hydraulics and pneumatics.
    7. Industrial sensors (pressure transducers, thermocouples, load cells, etc.).

  • Thorough understanding of:
    1. Instrumentation and data acquisition.
    2. Programming (e.g., scripts, machine code, Python).
    3. Tool and fixture design concepts.
    4. Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally.
