Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Broadcast Systems Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team at the State of Nebraska. As a key member of our technical operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance, conducting research, and implementing large projects related to digital broadcast systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Assistance: Provide technical support to the Director of Transmissions and the Director of Maintenance and Chief Engineer Maintenance on all FCC required documents and the integration of digital equipment with legacy broadcast systems.
  • Research and Development: Conduct research on technical projects, find alternative vendors and products, and provide raw data for analysis.
  • Project Implementation: Assist in the implementation of large projects, including providing pre-installation documentation, helping to install equipment, and creating as-built documents.
  • Technical Purchasing: Assist with the technical aspects of purchasing documents, including creating bid specifications and evaluating bid responses.
  • Training and Documentation: Implement and maintain a training program for Maintenance or Transmission personnel, and maintain various database programs for the Maintenance Department.
  • Periodic Maintenance: Implement and maintain a periodic maintenance program for Transmission systems.
  • Documentation and Procedures: Maintain the Transmission or Production technical systems documentation program, and develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for Transmission systems and personnel.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Work in the shop troubleshooting and repairing various electronic equipment.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Associate's degree in electronics
  • Experience in digital TV broadcast, RF systems, IP technology, electronics, and design
  • Diagnostic experience
