Role Overview:
We are seeking a candidate with expertise in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and their application. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of combatant command missions and the ability to engage with senior sponsors to represent operational missions and capabilities through a digitally model-based approach.

Key Responsibilities:
As a vital member of MITRE's Systems Engineering team, you will:

  • Support a variety of challenges, including electromagnetic spectrum operations, cybersecurity analytics, and network resiliency analysis.
  • Utilize digital engineering and model-based techniques to address complex national issues.
  • Collaborate with mission specialists, engineers, and government stakeholders to tackle intricate systems engineering challenges.
  • Apply MBSE concepts to real-world problems, utilizing industry-standard languages such as SysML/UML.
  • Conduct analytical assessments to support policy and capability decisions, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Engage with MITRE's modeling expertise to address diverse challenges.
  • Present findings in a clear and actionable manner for all audiences.
  • Become a trusted advisor and thought leader for sponsors.

Qualifications:
Basic qualifications include:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field with at least 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with equivalent experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (TS/SCI).
  • Knowledge of MBSE principles, concepts, and tools.
  • Proficiency in relevant technical areas, including digital engineering and system-of-systems architecture.
  • Familiarity with tools like SysML/UML, Cameo, and Rhapsody.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A BS with 5 years of experience or an MS with 3 years of experience, or a PhD in a STEM field.
  • An active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Experience with modeling, optimization, and simulation techniques.
  • Knowledge of DoD organization and missions, as well as systems engineering standards.
  • Advanced skills in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
