We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our mission of healing children and families.

Position Overview

Lucile Packard Children's Hospital is looking for a proficient Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to become a vital member of our Pediatric Liver Transplant Program. This role is essential within our multidisciplinary team, contributing to the clinical management and decision-making for pediatric liver transplant patients. The APP will operate within their full scope of practice, which includes the authority to order and prescribe medical treatments and perform procedures as permitted by medical staff privileges. Collaborating closely with Hepatology and Liver Transplant Surgeons, the APP will ensure comprehensive and individualized care for this specialized patient population.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage outpatient liver pre- and post-transplant patients, including monitoring, medication management, patient education, and care coordination.
  • Act as a primary provider for inpatient pediatric liver and intestinal transplant patients, engaging in rounding, documentation, and clinical decision-making alongside Hepatologists and Transplant Surgeons.
  • Assist in the operating room during pediatric transplant surgeries, including liver and intestine transplants, while serving in a first or second assistant capacity.
  • Provide support for weekday and weekend shifts to maintain continuous service coverage, including after-hours support for urgent transplant cases.

Prior experience in pediatric care or transplant medicine is preferred. The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and independently manage patient care is essential. RNFA certification for NP is preferred and may be required within one year of hire based on location.

  • NP: Licensure as a Registered Nurse in California, NP certification, national board certification, BLS certification, and DEA license for controlled substances if applicable.
