Job Overview

Position: Internal Service Advisor

Young Chevrolet is on the lookout for a skilled, experienced, and proactive Internal Service Advisor to join our Service Department. This role is pivotal in managing the diagnosis, execution, and completion of specific repair orders, ensuring the smooth operation of multiple reconditioning tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments by test-driving vehicles before and after repair services, utilizing diagnostic tools and service equipment to inspect components and systems.
  • Provide precise estimates and repair work orders based on anticipated labor and parts necessary for each job.
  • Collaborate with vendors to address vehicle damage, ensuring satisfactory repairs are completed.
  • Initiate and finalize all recall repair orders accurately and promptly, consulting manufacturer websites for reliable information.
  • Coordinate with customers and sales teams to arrange for promised services from sales transactions, ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the process.
  • Document the reconditioning process by capturing photos of vehicles post-service.
  • Oversee the shipping, receiving, maintenance, and administration of both new and used vehicles, playing a vital role in the inventory management process.
  • Create internal service repair orders for both new and used vehicles, delegating tasks to technicians and managing subletting when necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Complete onboarding process shortly after application.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods (up to 5 hours).
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting documents, writing routine reports, and effectively communicating with employees, managers, and customers.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently.
