Position Overview:

  • The primary responsibility of the Financial Services Consultant is to support entrepreneurs in securing the necessary funding for their ventures. This role involves cultivating essential relationships to assist small business owners, managing the loan application journey, assessing client qualifications, reviewing applications for accuracy, conducting credit evaluations, and preparing comprehensive loan submissions for underwriting. The Consultant will report directly to the Regional Lending Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive loan volume by establishing connections within the community, collaborating with partner organizations, bankers, accountants, and employing innovative strategies alongside small business support entities.
  • Attract new clients and partnerships with organizations that positively influence PeopleFund's target demographic.
  • Evaluate the most effective outreach methods to engage prospective clients.
  • Assess loan applications based on necessity, impact, and financial feasibility.
  • Screen potential clients and provide education regarding the loan process.
  • Assist startups, established small enterprises, and nonprofits in preparing for loan applications.
  • Submit loans that contribute positively to lower-income communities in Texas.
  • Meet established loan volume and production targets.
  • Conduct annual follow-ups with PeopleFund clients and reach out to clients with overdue accounts.
  • Ensure loan applications are correctly assigned to underwriters and that transactions progress smoothly through the approval process.
  • Identify the technical assistance, educational, and training needs of current and prospective clients.
  • Maintain regular communication with loan prospects and existing clients.
  • Follow up with clients to enhance and solidify relationships.
  • Engage in community outreach, collections, and relay loan capital and grant opportunities to corporate staff for action.
  • Participate in lending events that support PeopleFund's mission.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or relevant professional experience.

A minimum of three years in lending or related financial services.

Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Spanish language proficiency is preferred but not mandatory.

Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.

Availability to attend events or programs outside of standard work hours as necessary.
