Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Deputy Clerk. This role will provide advanced administrative support to the Clerk of Circuit Court, utilizing strong organizational and time management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed clerical work, including scanning, entering, and retrieving case information using Circuit Case Management software.
  • Issue and record public records, receive and verify documents for recording on the court's deed book.
  • Scan and index records with accuracy, reconcile daily collections, and assist customers in research of public records.
  • Properly maintain and preserve deed books, indices, and plat books, and may prepare court orders and case documents as needed.
  • May appear in courtroom for case hearings or trials, requiring a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, and equipment, and ability to utilize word-processing, worksheet analysis, and desktop publishing software.
  • Ability to relate to and knowledgably deal with the general public, staff, attorneys, judges, and government agencies both orally and in writing, tactfully and in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure, establish priorities for completing assignments, and meet critical court deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Education and experience equivalent to an Associate Degree in the legal or business field, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge.
