The Role

As a Performive Level 2 Systems Support Engineer, you will be an important member of the elite Systems Support Operations team. You will work with a talented global network of IT professionals that manage, support, secure, deploy, and optimize world-class virtualization and security solutions, cloud infrastructure, and production server environments. You will help ensure the seamless operation of client virtual and physical server environments, delivering top-tier enterprise support, and gain valuable hands-on experience in a variety of technologies and platforms, including VMware, Veeam Data Protection, Linux, Ubuntu, Windows Server, AWS, Azure, Active Directory, and Google Cloud.

Job Title: L2 Systems Support Engineer

Shift: 2nd Shift (4 PM to Midnight EST)

Responsibilities

  • Provide second-level Engineering and Technical Support via escalated tickets for virtual servers, cloud infrastructure, data protection solutions, and managed services.
  • Monitor and maintain virtual server environments, ensuring high availability and optimized performance.
  • Ensure SLA, KPI, Compliance, and Quality standards.
  • OS administration, maintenance, updates, and patch management.
  • Backup implementation, recovery, restoration, and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call support rotation, responding to incidents and issues as needed.
  • Assist in documenting technical processes, procedures, and customer configurations for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to Level 1 Support team members.
  • Assist in training and technical guidance when required.
Required Skills
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a Level 2 or Level 3 System Administration or Advanced Technical Support role responsible for production virtualized environment, servers, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, or MSP solutions.
  • Knowledge of core Internet protocols and services: DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, IP, NTP, TCP, UDP, SMTP, SSH, SSL, syslog.
  • Experience with server-level platform management and security for Linux, Ubuntu, CentOS, and/or Windows Server operating systems.
  • Strong engineering problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Experience managing web application vulnerability and performance.
  • Backup/Recovery using VMWare, Veeam, and R1Soft.
  • System instrumentation tools (vmstat; top; atop; strace; tcpdump; Wireshark)
  • MySQL Administration.
  • Apache Administration.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
