The Opportunity

We're looking for a Laboratory Technician, Production Genomics, working in Biotechnology/Medical Devices industry in 269 E Grand Ave, South San Francisco, California, 94080, United States.
Job description:
- Executes complex molecular biology protocols in a consistent, documented manner.
- Assists with hypothesis-driven troubleshooting for process deviations, as necessary.
- Contributes to the dissemination of results.
- Supports and maintains reagent preparation and inventory, record-keeping, and related administrative tasks in an organized and transparent fashion.

Experience Required for Your Success
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in Genome Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related field
- Experience with molecular and cell biology; isolation of nucleic acids from a variety of material types; sequencing library preparation and quantification methods
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Enthusiasm, independence, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced, team environment
- Flexibility to work weekends or shift work
- 2+ years of experience working in a genomics laboratory, sequencing core, or reagent manufacturing facility
- Demonstrated experience preparing libraries for a variety of Illumina-based sequencing assays in a high-throughput environment
- Familiarity with interpreting sequencing quality control data
- Familiarity with magnetic manipulation of nucleic acids and/or liquid-handling automation technologies
- Familiarity with use of a Laboratory Information Management System to track and document work
