A postdoctoral research opportunity is available focused on the genomics of leiomyoma development (commonly known as uterine fibroids) and the exploration of non-invasive diagnostic methods. This position is situated within a laboratory that employs transgenic animal models to investigate Med12 mutations, which are linked to a significant percentage of human leiomyomas.
Research Focus:
The research will delve into the origins of leiomyomas, examining genomic rearrangements, epigenetic factors, and cellular diversity. Additionally, the laboratory is engaged in the analysis of human leiomyomas to assess cellular heterogeneity and develop non-invasive diagnostic techniques.
Methodologies:
The successful candidate will utilize a variety of advanced techniques, including:
- Molecular and cellular biology methodologies
- Whole exome and genome sequencing
- Chromosomal microarray analysis
- CRISPR-generated humanized mouse models
- Targeted gene knockout strategies
Moreover, the role will provide exposure to both human and animal experimental research.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, or a related discipline.
