About the Team

The Fairbanks Mobile Crisis Team (MCT) is an alternative first-responder program for community members in crisis or experiencing acute mental health symptoms. In participation with the Fairbanks Emergency Communication Center (FECC), the MCT team is dispatched by 911 operators to individuals in the community. Following SAMHSA's Crisis Now model, MCT staff are dispatched as a two-person Clinician and Peer Support Professional team. FECC dispatches MCT on a level-based system that may include law enforcement or emergency medical service support, but primarily serves the community as a standalone alternative emergency service with live-access connection to FECC dispatchers. MCT is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for any community member in crisis within the Fairbanks North Star Borough.
