Clinician II Role Overview

At Alaska Behavioral Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Clinician II to join our Mobile Crisis Team in Fairbanks. As a key member of our team, you will provide on-demand crisis services to individuals in need, responding to 911 calls and assessing situations to determine the best course of action. Your expertise in crisis intervention and stabilization will be invaluable in helping our clients navigate challenging situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide crisis services to individuals in need, responding to 911 calls and assessing situations to determine the best course of action.
  • Assess needs and risk to determine appropriate level of care and complete safety plans or wellness plans as appropriate.
  • Coordinate care with existing treatment providers and/or refer clients to appropriate needed services.
  • Complete medical record documentation of all client activities.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and utilize agency-provided clinical supervision under the direction of the clinical leadership team.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or other discipline recognized in the State of Alaska as a mental health professional.
  • Licensed in Alaska as a social worker, psychologist, psychological associate, marriage & family therapist, or have the ability to be licensed within two years.
  • Prefer full-time internship and/or one year of experience working with individuals experiencing severe mental illness and/or substance use, preferably with experience in crisis intervention and stabilization.
  • Required: experience conducting safety assessments, mental health assessments, and/or evidence-based clinical inventories (PHQ-9, GAD-7, etc.).
  • Must pass background check and have valid Alaska driver's license with a clean 5-year driving record and Alaska vehicle insurance.
