UNIT JOB SUMMARY: As part of the Chicago Booth Alumni Engagement Team, the Associate Director, Alumni Engagement, EMEA, based in London, plays an important part in the delivery of a world-class alumni experience and a successful Robert Rothman, ’77 London Campus. The Associate Director will be the principal lead for volunteer management in the region, contribute significantly to the alumni engagement pipeline, execute a comprehensive alumni events program in the EMEA region, and provide an excellent experience for alumni engaging with the London Campus.

This position is based in London.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Volunteer Management
    • Serve as the first point of contact for over 200 alumni volunteers and about 3,000 alumni in the EMEA region. Develop alumni communities to their highest potential and manage the EMEA region rollout of innovative engagement model for Booth’s alumni communities.
    • Contribute meaningfully to the alumni engagement pipeline by identifying, cultivating, stewarding, and soliciting philanthropic support of unengaged alumni and potential alumni volunteers
    • As the principal liaison for activities of currently 25 diverse alumni communities in the EMEA region, lead and manage volunteers to optimize their operations, events, communications and data tracking responsibilities.
    • Conduct meetings with alumni and students and engage with alumni at events, both on and off-campus.
  • Events
    • Drive new alumni engagement programs, especially those focused on raising the engagement levels with the London Campus, and engage alumni in those efforts.
    • In partnership with the Booth Advancement Global Events Team and the London Campus Events Team, manage the organization and execution of staff-driven alumni engagement events in London and the EMEA region, covering a wide range of programs - from small dinners to large-scale speaking events, including Diversity & Inclusion programs. Collaborating with the London Campus Events Manager and global events staff will be critical.
    • Must build proficiency with event related processes and procedures including learning online registration systems and responding to alumni queries; working with vendors; executing and staffing events on and off campus and sometimes in the evenings and on weekends.
 
    • Manage student-alumni engagement programs in London, including the Alumni Breakfast Series and Booth Family Dinner series, and work closely with the Booth Advancement Student-Alumni Engagement Team based in Chicago to execute the best opportunities.
  • Communications
    • Partner with the Booth Advancement Communications Team, based in Chicago, to maintain alumni communities’ websites, create and send alumni communities’ emails, and utilize social media. Help support and maintain alumni usage of our new online platform, Hivebrite. Help create best practices for global alumni communities to increase engagement.
  • Support Fundraising efforts
    • Solicit alumni volunteers to support annual fund and volunteer participation goals.
    • Collaborate with regionally affiliated gift officers on meetings, engagement, and pipeline of potential donors.
  • Add to the Campus Community in London and Chicago
    • Provide an excellent experience for alumni who want to engage with the new London Campus by working with the campus teams to provide a top-notch visitor experience.
    • Form partnerships with other teams at Booth and UChicago, such as Communications, Events, Career Services/GCLD, Recruiting/Admissions, Student Life, and UChicago Alumni Relations and Development. Realize the highest potential of cross collaboration.
    • Manage comprehensive data and tracking tasks, including event data processing and analyzing, maintaining event calendars, and securing and processing alumni contact information.
    • Become an expert in Booth’s Salesforce instance called Phoenix to manage comprehensive CRM tasks.
    • Manage ordering, quality control, and inventory of Booth branded items/gifts.
    • Staff events sponsored by Booth as assigned.
    • Ability to work early mornings, late evenings and occasional weekends as well as ability to travel within EMEA and to Chicago required.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
