Job Summary


Reporting to the Executive Director of Partnerships and Credential Programs, the Associate Director of Credential Programs at the Student Recruitment and Global Outreach (SRGO) team will primarily focus on the non-degree credential programs at the Harris School of Public Policy and cultivating partnerships with leading academic and social sector organizations both in the US and key global markets.

This is a highly comprehensive and agile individual contributor role managing all aspects of the credential programs ranging from program development, marketing strategy and campaign design, faculty communication, recruitment operations to student experience delivery.

The person will manage at least one global employee based in China and a group of student workers and teaching assistants as well.

Responsibilities

  • Program Design and Marketing Operations – 70%
  • Conduct market research to study the landscape of credential, custom and adult learning programs; identify new opportunities for Harris to develop new programs
  • Work closely with UChicago faculty, external clients and vendors to design and develop program proposals and learning modules with the learnercentered approach in various modalities (inperson, remote, hybrid); study and create best practices of learning/pedagogical methodology/technology usage for credential programs at Harris
  • Work closely with the SRGO marketing team and the global team to develop various marketing campaigns and marketing assets (blog posts, profiles, email content, WeChat articles) for different programs and markets via different digital platforms such as LinkedIn, Google Ads, Instagram and WeChat
  • Design and deliver the entire student experience for Chinabased programs starting from orientation, scheduling courses/classes/live events, creating and managing Canvas sites, managing the student worker/teaching assistants, and faculty communication and relationships building
  • Manage the program budget (expenses, revenue, net revenue)
  • Engage with the program alumni and manage the LinkedIn groups for credential alumni
  • Partnership Development in Asia – 20%
  • Further expand the Chinabased nondegree program offerings by building and/or enhancing relationships with key partners like governments, foundations, and academic institutions in Asia, including establishing new partner connections, ensuring ongoing partner communication, and tracking partner/project status
  • Establishes and maintains metrics of success and makes sure those are present in departmental strategic plans, goals setting, and the annual budget.
  • Degree Recruitment Support – 10%
  • Leverage the accumulation of the social capital with Harris faculty and policy knowledge to support the degree recruitment work focusing on faculty engagement, student/alumni networking.
  • Support key degree recruitment work such as Admitted Student Week, Diversity & Inclusion Day etc.
  • Serve as a resource for program information. Resolves problems or questions referred by program staff, University administrators, or other contingencies
  • Develops and communicates program priorities and performance standards and assesses operations using these criteria. Plans and conducts quality assurance reviews and recommends changes as appropriate
  • Has a deep understanding when interacting with faculty, researchers and staff for committee work or information
  • Perform other related work as needed
Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree from Harris Public Policy

Experience:

  • Eight years of related program management experience in an educational setting
  • Experience with the University of Chicago or other peer institutions, and/or studentfacing experiences
  • Experience within one or more of the functions such as program design, partnership development, marketing, student advising, curriculum design
  • Experience within one or more of the sectors in China such as nonprofit, forprofit, academia, government
