Read on About the Job You’ll handle all aspects of the financial reporting processes for the company. The Financial Analyst position is part of the Finance and Actuary Team, a team of professionals focused on finding data driven solutions. Additionally, you’re responsible for preparing and filing all MSF financial statements and overseeing the accounting structure and general ledger system. What You Will Do Coordinate and oversee MSF’s quarterly financial reporting process to produce financial statements and accompanying reports on both a Statutory and GAAP accounting basis. Submit all annual, quarterly, and supplemental filings required by the Montana Insurance Commissioner and NAIC. Prepare internal projections, financial statement narratives, and financial models for use by MSF management. Prepare quarterly financial presentations for the MSF Board of Directors. Provide technical accounting advice and interpretation to finance staff and MSF management. Coordinate completion of independent financial statement audits on both Statutory and GASB accounting bases by providing auditors supporting detail, explaining unusual balances or transactions, and entering adjustments as needed. Oversee MSF’s accounting structure, systems, and general ledger, as well as MSF’s internal controls over financial reporting. Participate in special projects as assigned. What You Will Need *(Minimum Requirements)* Required: Requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration/ finance/accounting (or related field) and Six (6) years directly related professional work experience with a broad range of accounting and/or financial analysis areas to include:

Demonstrated expert Excel level (i.e.: data analysis and complex formula and chart creation) experience and working knowledge of business intelligence/analytical tools.

and Must have current CPA designation . Preferred: At least 3 years experience in preparation of financial statements and related footnotes; preferably on a GASB basis and NAIC statutory basis. At least three (3) years of experience with insurance company business operations and financial transactions to include:

demonstrated experience with general ledger accounting software; demonstrated experience in management of multi-component processes requiring input from internal departments and external agencies and the review and evaluation of work of others(or equivalent combination of degree and experience).

Demonstrated experience performing technical accounting research (NAIC and GAAP). Knowledge of business intelligence tools and relevant insurance industry accounting experience (reinsurance), designations, and certifications.
