About the Opportunity
We are currently looking for a qualified candidate to take on the role of a Financial Compliance Analyst within our Securities Division. The Securities Division plays a crucial role in advocating for Montana's citizens by ensuring fair and transparent access to insurance and securities. Key responsibilities include:
Educating consumers and investors about securities Investigating cases of financial fraud Promoting capital investment in Montana Ensuring uniformity in the market through oversight of the securities industry Conducting examinations of the securities sector for compliance with the Montana Securities Act.This position is integral to our mission, as it involves conducting financial regulatory examinations of registered broker-dealer and investment adviser firms in Montana. The role requires analyzing the financial health of these firms, ensuring adherence to state and federal securities regulations, and contributing to the establishment of a well-regulated securities market that encourages investment. Additionally, this position will involve investigating allegations of securities fraud or violations of the Montana Securities Act.

What We Seek from You
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Familiarity with the Montana Securities Act and relevant federal regulations, including the Securities and Exchange Acts and Investment Advisors Act. Understanding of economic and accounting principles, auditing techniques, and financial data analysis. Knowledge of law enforcement concepts and criminal investigation methods, with the ability to innovate in investigative approaches. Proficiency in establishing examination procedures and reviewing complex financial data. Competence in database applications and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook. Ability to analyze financial statements of broker-dealer and investment adviser firms. Strong judgment skills to assess technical data and identify discrepancies. A collaborative mindset with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, the securities industry, and the public. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and efficiently.Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Criminal Justice, or a related field A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Financial Securities or Investigative roles.*Alternate combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
