The Mission Ahead

Under direct supervision, assigned daily work. May explain instructions and documentation to plan work activities. Helps coordinate movement of materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site. Completes and reviews records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean up activities. Job may require moderate to heavy lifting. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.

Who You Are

Forecasts, controls, and reports project costs for projects. Develops and provides project variances, trending and analysis of expenditures, monthly forecasts and reporting. Reviews project costs incurred by category, calculates future costs based on labor productivity, material price increases, subcontract, wage rates and risk analysis or leads change control process. Ensures the development and completion of job progress milestones through scheduling. Coordinates with procurement and material mangers as well as engineering work group leads pertaining to essential items of supply. Provides priorities for projects to guarantee completion. Contributes to forecasts and disbursements by performing schedule analysis. Under general direction, uses specialized knowledge or skills to solve complex and unique problems, or direct the daily activities of a business, technical support, or functional support within project controls. Establishes priorities for the completion of assigned tasks. Uses judgment to interpret internal and external issues and develop best practices. May direct resources, prioritize tasks and provide guidance to less experienced team members. Relies upon experience, interpersonal skills, and broad knowledge of project controls to ensure task completion in compliance with policies, procedures, and business strategy.

This role will be located in Chantilly, VA, and will be expected to travel between our facilities in Chantilly and Springfield, VA. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.

What You'll Do

As a Project Controls Specialist, you will:

* Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with initial plans and project specifications.

* Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.

* Prepare detailed reports to update management on project status.

* Collaborate with project managers and other project participants to provide financial and technical support.

* Maintain Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure that all installations and repairs meet or exceed the set standards.

* Facilitate Team Communication: Ensure clear and consistent communication within the team and with other project stakeholders to keep everyone informed and aligned on project goals and updates.

* Other duties as required

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

* 10+ years of proven experience in project management and project controls.

* Strong analytical skills and experience with project management tools.

* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve.

* High School Diploma or GED: Required as a basic educational foundation.

* Attention to Detail: Precision and attention to detail to ensure high-quality service delivery and compliance with safety standards.

* Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing conditions, technologies, and requirements.

* Decision-Making Ability: Strong decision-making skills to resolve issues quickly and effectively under pressure.

Clearance:

* Must possess an active U.S Government Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility required. Willingness to take a polygraph and upgrade clearance as required.
