Position:

Configuration Management Specialist

Required Clearance: TS/SCI with Poly

Location: Chantilly, VA

KBR is in search of a dedicated Configuration Management Specialist to join our team supporting the NRO's SIGINT Directorate. This role is pivotal in addressing the evolving challenges in intelligence collection through innovative methodologies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of mission requirements and will be instrumental in driving transformative changes in operational practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of configuration baselines, including the administration of configuration control boards, engineering review boards, and technical review boards.
  • Implement stringent control procedures to accurately document baseline configurations and facilitate architectural and procedural modifications.
  • Prepare and submit deviations, waivers, and requests for change (RFCs) for governmental endorsement when specifications are not achievable.
  • Coordinate and secure approval for development contractor and SETA contractor CDRLs.
  • Possibly structure and maintain relevant databases.
  • Present engineering changes to clients for evaluation and approval; maintain comprehensive records and generate status reports.
  • Compile configuration verification audit record sheets for all projects.
  • Align review schedules and timelines with government stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven technical and analytical skills in systems engineering with a focus on baseline management.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Familiarity with the JSMART tool suite.
  • 3-5 years of experience in space systems acquisition and/or sustainment.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of collaborating with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in an engineering discipline or systems engineering.
  • 5-10 years of experience in space systems acquisition and/or sustainment.
  • Knowledge of best practices in acquisition and operational technologies.
  • Experience with system design trade processes, evaluating design alternatives, analyzing mission requirements, and overseeing vehicle development and testing.
  • Specific insight into NRO space and ground systems and their operational processes.
