Position Summary

Orbis Operations is seeking a Technical Systems Specialist to assist our government client. We are in search of a professional who is dedicated to discovering innovative methods for designing, implementing, and overseeing intricate systems. The specialist will collaborate closely with team members and clients to ensure optimal outcomes.

Core Responsibilities
  • The Specialist will devise and execute solutions that align with technical specifications and standards.
  • The Specialist will collect and evaluate user or client requirements to define system goals and limitations.
  • The Specialist will identify and resolve any challenges or inefficiencies during the testing phase.
  • The Specialist will explore various technologies as directed by the Sponsor.
  • The Specialist will document design plans, technical specifications, user manuals, and system configurations.
  • The Specialist will recognize potential risks or vulnerabilities within the system and formulate strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • The Specialist will work in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including software developers, hardware engineers, project managers, and stakeholders.

This role does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications and Skills
  • A Bachelor's degree is mandatory for this position.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Systems Engineer role within the Intelligence Community.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is necessary.
  • Proven experience in developing detailed designs and associated deliverables.
  • Proven ability to translate customer and system requirements into effective designs.
  • Proven experience in designing system interfaces.
  • Proven knowledge of networking fundamentals, operations, and maintenance.
  • Proven experience with Security Control Frameworks.
  • Proven familiarity with NIST standards.
  • Proven experience in developing accessibility standards.
  • Recent experience with the Sponsor's suite of applications that provide repository and search services.
  • Ability to engage in prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Participation in routine video conference and/or in-person meetings is expected.
  • Willingness to attend planned meetings within the Washington Metro Area region.
