Credit Risk, which independently oversees the management of credit risk exposures (including monitoring and reporting on aggregate credit exposures across groups, legal entities, geographies, and jurisdictions) and the quality of credit risk management practices across the company. This oversight extends to all phases of a loan's life cycle, including origination, underwriting, risk analysis, approval, documentation, monitoring, loss recognition, modification, and collection activities. Credit Risk develops, maintains, and ensures adherence to companywide credit risk frameworks, policies, and procedures that are aligned with Board-approved risk appetite.

Risk Asset Review ("RAR") is the company's internal loan review function and is foundational to the credit risk management function at Wells Fargo. RAR independently evaluates the quality of lending practices in the businesses and shares its findings with the Chief Credit Officer and line of business management. RAR reports all significant credit issues to members of the Allowance Approach and Allowance Approval Committees, Executive Management and the Credit Committee of the Board of Directors.

In this role, you will:
  • Manage and develop teams of individual contributors and managers in roles with moderate complexity and risk
  • Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners and peers associated with the function or affected by its outcomes
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for examinations of each business, risk rating integrity, portfolio quality, completeness of loan documentation, credit policy adequacy, and adherence
  • Determine appropriate strategy and actions of Risk Asset Review Examination team to meet moderate to high risk deliverables
  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with moderate complexity within scope of responsibility
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Interact with internal and external customers
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Risk Asset Review Examination
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of Risk Asset Review Examination experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of Management experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • 10+ years' experience working for a large US bank or large regional bank as a commercial loan underwriter, portfolio / relationship manager, and/or credit supervisor
  • Exposure to large complex deals, including syndicated deals, leveraged loans, securities transactions, and asset-based lending facilities.
  • Good understanding of commercial real estate across various sectors.
  • Strong commercial credit analysis skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis, and to document conclusions in an articulate and succinct manner.
  • Ability to review and interpret complex financial statements, commercial loan structures, and loan documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively and professionally communicate issues, risks, and recommendations to various stakeholders including senior leaders.
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or business administration
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high performing team to meet or exceed required goals.
