This role is responsible for managing complex and critical professional disciplinary areas, leading and directing a team of professionals, and applying in-depth understanding of multiple areas within a function to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and Direct Teams: Lead and direct a team of professionals, responsible for the management of people, budget, and planning, including performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Risk and Control Management: Guide and influence governance and the facilitation of the execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA) as required by the MCA Standard, including the assessment and approval of risk associated with business changes.
- Quality and Accuracy: Responsible for the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the implementation of the Control Framework, including Risk Control Policy, Control Standard, Issue Management Policy, Lesson Learned Policy, and Control Inventory.
- Resource Allocation: Manage and allocate resources for the identification of issue root cause, partnering with control and process owners to recommend holistic corrective actions and improvements.
- Lessons Learned: Assist in directing teams in the implementation of the Lessons Learned Policy, including monitoring of control breaches and dissemination and learnings across other business units for process improvement.
- Review and Challenge: Support review and challenge, within the FLUs, on the effective design and management of controls to mitigate risks as required by the Control Standards.
- Operational and Compliance Risk: Exercise control over Operational and Compliance Risk in accordance with established Policy requirements.
- Risk Assessment: Assess risk exposures across Risk Categories, including material, emerging, and concentration risks, and allocate resources to identify, assess, escalate, and manage risk exposures.
- Risk Appetite: Assess Risk Appetite and monitor exposures against this in accordance with enterprise requirements.
- Operational Risk Events: Take ownership to identify, assess, record, and respond to Operational and Compliance Risk events.
- Risk Governance: Responsible that adequate governance and training are in place to support management of Risk profiles.
- New Activities and Changes: Assess the risks associated with New Activities and changes to the Business, ensuring these are well understood and adequately controlled.
- Risk Scenario Analysis: Support operational risk scenario analysis and stress testing for Operational Risk Capital requirements.
- Risk Assessments and Coordination: Take ownership of risk and control assessments or coordination for programs within various risk stripes.
- Risk and Control Responsibilities: Ensure that risk and control responsibilities and accountabilities are embedded within FLUs, including providing training and leading by example.
- Standards and Procedures: Guide and influence standards and procedures that conform to enterprise requirements and support sound operational and compliance risk management.
- Control Points and Processes: Apply knowledge of the business, products, or services to identify and implement control points and processes throughout the business.
- Business Decisions: Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
- Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Risk and Control Experience: Experience in the Manager Control Assessment (MCA) process, Risk & Control & Issue Management.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level.
- Management Responsibility: Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget, and planning.
- Bachelor's/University Degree: Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
