To plan and perform a variety of manufacturing engineering functions to establish productive, cost-effective manufacturing methods and processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods and standards by studying product requirements, researching, and designing, modifying, and testing.
  • Analyzes, improves, and plans work force utilization, space requirements, equipment layout, and workflow to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product and tooling to ensure efficient production methods that support design for automation.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Confer with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Keeps equipment operational by using the manufacturers instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Participate in Kaizen events to ensure continuous process improvement.
  • Contributes to cross functional team effort.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Primary job functions do not require exercising independent judgment.


Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree (B.S) from a four-year college or university in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 1-5 years experience in a related position within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining automated systems preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with PC based Word, Excel, MS Project, Access, Power Point, CAD, Solid Works, and ERP
  • Experience dealing with complexity, informing others, leadership, manufacturing methods and procedures, manufacturing quality, product development, design for automation and presenting technical information.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management, engineers, vendors, assembly line supervisors and workers
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and does not require exercising independent judgement.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Works under immediate supervision
