This role reports to the Assistant Controller in the Corporate Accounting Department. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Compile, analyze, and review financial information and transactions to prepare and/or approve journal entries and adjustments for month end close. Provides analysis, reports, and reconciliations for external audits. Assist in managing the monthly consolidated financial reporting close process and financial statement preparation to ensure an accurate and timely close, including management of related audit support. Complete GAAP accounting standards and guidance research and apply to financial statements Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department and the firm Participate in the year-end close process and prep monthly journal entries and reconciliations. Support Assistant Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements. Prepare assigned reports and analysis and miscellaneous reports as requested. Design, implement and maintain processes and internal controls to follow Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 to ensure that all transactions are valid and correctly accounted for, that all accounts and financial/management reports are complete, accurate, timely etc., and that efficiency and effectiveness are maximized. Collaborate with various departments to support overall accounting department and firm objectives EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. 3+ years of progressive experience in public accounting strongly preferred or related experience. Experience in GAAP, including practical application and research of accounting standards. Experience analyzing data and summarizing findings. Experience with accounting systems and databases. CPA preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word, Adobe, PowerPoint, Access (or similar database application). COMPETENCIES Strong organizational, project management, and verbal and written communications skills with a demonstrated commitment to teamwork and partnerships. Thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic team-based, collaborative environment, and works well with others to resolve conflicts, especially under pressure. Ability to handle critical internal relationships within the firm, including with other department and employees of all levels, up to and including the Management team. Strong problem solving, analytical, and statistical analysis skills; able to clearly define a problem, synthesize data to derive fact-based insights and actionable recommendations. Organized, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, while still maintaining flexibility to meet firm needs. Excellent presentation skills. Maintains absolute confidentiality of all financial information and safeguards firm data; maintains high ethical standard in all practices. Professional and positive demeanor, superb work ethic, high level of personal ethics and integrity.
