WHAT YOU WILL DO: Provide Environmental Compliance and construction oversight on transmission Site Development and Linear Transmission Line construction projects. Provide Environmental Oversight and compliance/inspections associated with Transmission Capital Projects and the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). Perform all required erosion and sediment, stormwater management and pollution prevention inspections for applicable construction projects. Interpret complex plans and drawings. Attend pre-construction meetings, constructability meetings, and status meetings as directed. Ensure compliance with laws and regulations for wetland access, protected species, wood and debris disposal, site control and soil disturbance. Manage and oversee site development crews, providing oversight to sediment and erosion control or Best Management Practice (BMP) contractors. Monitor and report to Project Management on status of construction units estimated and actuals billed to date of project. Assure that all field operations are in compliance with permits. Document pre- and post-work field conditions to ensure compliance with permits and environmental regulations. Observe wetlands & sensitive areas’ identification and ensure vegetation management crews are aware of them. Assist in developing recommendations on future R-O-W maintenance requirements. Communicate daily with the utility client, contractors, landowners, and the general public. Perform duties in a manner that will promote and maintain good public relations. Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned. WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE: Associate or bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Construction Management, Building Science, or a related field. 1-5 years’ experience in Site Development work, permitting utility construction. Solid understanding of the NPDES Construction Generic Permit (CGP) and SWPPP implementation and inspections. Successfully completed a Stormwater, Erosion Control Inspector Training Program, or a similar competency program. Desire to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain. Strong public relation skills. Willingness to work alone. Basic computer skills. Valid driver’s license. WHAT WOULD BE AMAZING TO HAVE: Background in the Electric Transmission Construction, Pipeline, Utility field. Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) knowledge. Previous construction crew oversight experience. GIS Experience. Strong knowledge of ANSI Z133 safety standards. Military background. Bi-Lingual (English and Spanish). Physical Requirements: The team member must have sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field environment, including walking up to 10 miles per day, standing, sitting, and operating a motor vehicle for prolonged periods. Frequent physical activities include stooping, bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and lifting light to heavy weights.
