Job Summary

4R & Battery Business is looking for a highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, individual to help drive and grow Nissan's new Energy Solutions business in the US market. The Manager of Business Development and Solutions Deployment will be responsible for identifying and evaluating business opportunities and partners for Energy Storage Solutions (ESS) and other 2nd life battery applications for the Americas. They will oversee all aspects of project installation and deliverables to client specifications.

Job Functions

Creation and management of project plans & business cases, financial objectives & performance to achieve Energy Solution product sales, system deployments, market tests, and research goals. Identify potential Partners that could support in the realization of ESS product solutions, technology, and revenue growth. Profile and analyze companies on their capabilities, solutions, and sustainability. Manage and support Regional closed-loop Energy Product projects. These can include planned "micro-grid" and (ESS) deployments within Nissan's enterprise, with partners, and with outside customers. Deployments may range from small to large MWh solutions depending on the specific channel, customer segments & requirements, and product solution integration & site installation needs. Create sales and demand planning forecasts that align with battery material supply and KwH size and chemistry requirements to meet 4R ESS sales installation projects. Coordinate and communicate business planning activities between the BD, ESS Engineering, Technical, and Supply Chain teams. Ensure the alignment of product deliverables with available material and production capacity. Work with customers and partners to achieve solution deployment that meets contracted deliverable timing. Identify, create contracts, and manage vendors and third parties on solution installations and service support. Ensure solutions meet and comply with all local utility energy integration regulations, codes, and ordinances. Work with 3rd party contractors, integrators, and contract manufacturing companies to ensure timely deployment of solution projects. Continually research and analyze energy solutions market trends to ensure 4R product solutions & future plans align with market requirements. Prepare and present material to 4R & Battery Business team on a regular basis. Establish and implement project development plans, and budgets, and track and report on project development tasks Coordinate with all internal teams, including, but not limited to legal, purchasing, and finance. Ensure that business modeling and assumptions are aligned with internal/external finance groups.

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualification statements reflect the minimum skills and abilities required of the qualified applicant.

Job Knowledge and Skill:

Experience working in the Utility Power Generation, Energy Solutions Sector, Energy Storage, Solar, and/or Energy as a Service Market space. Deep knowledge of the Energy Industry, renewable markets, solar and battery technologies, and the associated energy solution system designs and deployment requirements to meet diverse customer segments, stakeholder requirements, and regulatory requirements. Multiple years working across a diverse customer base on energy management projects.

Communication Skills:

Very strong interpersonal and communication skills; strong ability to discuss business processes, technology solutions, and code requirements aligned with projects. Ability to create, prepare and deliver high-quality presentation materials to the executive level and in-client sales meetings. Must be able to interact with cross-functional teams, collaborate project activities & deliverables, and build consensus for global business units.

Experience:

Eight or more years of progressively responsible related experience at a professional level. Including related business development and project execution experience working in Mid to Large companies in multi-site installations. Experience working with battery to ESS solutions to grid integration program management responsibility and project installation deployment oversight. Experience preparing and managing large multiple-project budgets, 3rd parties, and regulatory agencies across multi-market, multi-team, and multi-solution installations.

Supervisory Experience:

Previous experience as a manager or supervisor, providing leadership, coaching, guidance, training, and contributing to staff development. Supervised subordinates or contractors with somewhat differentiated roles. Prior experience managing the work of others required with a proven ability to drive the performance of others. Ability to influence the actions of others who may not be under direct control through relationship-building skills.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field is required. Advanced degree preferred. Engineering or Technology Solutions Deployment Project Management, Business Management & Planning, and/or Consulting a plus

Computer Skills:

Thorough computer knowledge with personal productivity tools such as word processors, spreadsheets, presentation tools, Visio, and other relevant PC applications. The creation of sophisticated financial modeling and analysis is a must. Microsoft Project or comparable project software expertise is preferred.

Travel:

Minimum (15-25% day and overnight travel)
