Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Merritt Island, FL-32953

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and improve manufacturing projects and operations, including ergonomic improvements, capacity, and capital planning.
  • Support production through scheduling, budget forecasting, crew empowerment, defect analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Identify and prioritize process improvement projects using lean manufacturing, six sigma, and other statistical methods.
  • Facilitate system integration and design, including value stream analysis and facility layouts.
  • Conduct time-motion studies, data analysis, and develop planning standards.
  • Provide input and manage data for troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Develop ad hoc queries and reports, maintain databases, and ensure proper data collection.
  • Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Operations Research, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Experience in manufacturing/facilities planning, process modeling, and simulations.
  • Proficient in data analysis, especially using Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degrees in Operations or Construction Management, MSE, or MBA.
  • Experience with manned space flight production.
  • Project Management (PMP) and Six Sigma Black Belt certifications.
  • Experience transitioning from development to production and with supply chains.
