About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our Test & Flight Operations team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and verifying data collection and control systems used in flight component testing and ground launch support facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop instrumentation and controls systems, applying standard engineering techniques to ensure high-quality results.
  • Automate manufacturing processes using instrumentation and controls systems, improving efficiency and reducing errors.
  • Own the setup, commissioning, and updating of test stations, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions and resolve issues, making recommendations to improve operations and efficiency.
  • Document specifications and operating procedures, ensuring clear communication with team members and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of end-to-end experience with industrial or aerospace control system design and operation.
  • Good experience in at least one programming language: LabVIEW, Python, or C++.
  • Full system level integration experience of software, hardware, and electrical systems.
  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field with a combination of software/hardware development experience.
  • Ability to design electrical circuits using CAD-based schematic and panel layout tools.
  • Proficiency with electrical diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot instrumentation and control circuits.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading teams from concept to product delivery.
  • Experience with PLC and Ladder Logic.
  • Experience with designing box-level automation.
  • Experience working with instrumentation: static and dynamic pressure, cryogenic temperature sensors, LVDTs, and accelerometers.
  • Software development or troubleshooting of NI LabVIEW systems or PLC controllers coupled with OPC communications.
  • Tuning closed-loop control systems.
