This position plays a vital role in the advancement and functioning of New Glenn, a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle designed for consistent transportation of personnel and cargo to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar space, and beyond. Notably, its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle is engineered to accommodate human missions from the outset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish standards and templates for work order creation in Jules and manage Bill of Materials configurations in Windchill for mission operations.
  • Collaborate with vehicle and operations engineers to draft work orders for vehicle assembly, integration, checkout, and launch operations.
  • Oversee configuration management of flight hardware, ensuring alignment between engineering and manufacturing bills of materials.
  • Assist with hardware integration on the production floor, addressing challenges as they arise throughout the operational day.
  • Manage the lifecycle of work orders from inception to completion.
  • Facilitate the transition from production to operational phases by monitoring necessary configurations, traveled work, and as-built documentation of flight hardware.
  • Anticipate and devise corrective action plans for critical hardware installations impacting integration and launch timelines.
  • Define system requirements for manufacturing software and collaborate with the development team to enhance functionalities within Jules and Windchill platforms, integrating with third-party systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the mission and vision of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering models, drawings, and specifications, translating them into clear work instructions and testing protocols.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or launch operations setting.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused approach and the ability to engage effectively with both executive leadership and shop floor personnel.
  • Ability to operate effectively with a strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical capabilities, with a proven track record of managing complex projects with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work off-hours, extended shifts, and weekends as necessary.
  • Must successfully pass a security background check.
  • Ability to foster trust, maintain professional relationships, and enhance our culture of inclusivity.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or legally admitted refugee or asylee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over two years of experience supporting the assembly and/or integration of complex engineering systems, including launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, or naval platforms.
  • Experience with Jules as an MES and Windchill as a product lifecycle management tool.
  • Background in developing and implementing work order authoring systems.
  • Experience in creating production control systems or process flow architectures.
  • Demonstrated success in supporting a matrix organization.
  • Experience with safety-critical systems.
  • Proven history of implementing organization-wide process improvements.
