Axient is actively seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Industrial Systems Engineer. This role is integral to supporting the USSF Space Systems Command Launch Assured Access to Space Launch Acquisition Directorate (SSC/AAL). The selected candidate will engage in various manufacturing engineering responsibilities and activities related to the non-recurring design validation of New Entrant Launch Service Providers.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Provide expertise in Launch Vehicle Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering.

+ Conduct and support manufacturing engineering functions, including process gap assessments, design evaluations, test assessments, risk management, hardware acceptance, verification, operations, anomaly resolution, and post-flight analyses.

+ Execute manufacturing and industrial engineering tasks such as evaluating launch vehicle design, manufacturing techniques, procedures, tooling, facilities, infrastructure, personnel qualifications, non-conformance assessments, material review boards, corrective action reports, calibration, environmental controls, quality assurance, non-destructive testing, safety protocols, regulations, supplier management, and logistics.

+ Develop and perform manufacturing process audits, including creating the audit plan and checklist, and drafting the final report.

+ Organize, coordinate, and support Design Certification Reviews, program reviews, and other relevant meetings.

+ Manage technical and engineering data, including data mining and reporting.

+ Collaborate with USSF System Program Offices, Aerospace Corporation, Launch Vehicle Contractors (LVCs), subcontractors, and launch site personnel.

+ Prepare and submit weekly and other technical evaluations and reports.

+ Engage in Knowledge Capture, Process Definition, and training preparation and delivery.

+ Create and deliver written and verbal presentations and reports to senior engineers and management.

Required Skills:

+ Active or current transferable DoD secret clearance (or higher) is mandatory, with the ability to maintain the required clearance.

+ Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.

+ At least 8 years of directly related experience, which must encompass:

+ Design, testing, manufacturing, and operational experience with systems, processes, personnel, and organizations.

+ Experience in supporting design, manufacturing, testing reviews, and anomaly resolution.

+ Conducting risk assessments and providing actionable recommendations and mitigations.

+ Planning and executing manufacturing process audits.

+ Engaging in Knowledge Capture, Process Definition, and training preparation and delivery.

+ Preparing and delivering written and verbal presentations and reports to senior engineers and management.

+ Ability to interact effectively with USSF, NASA, NRO, Launch Vehicle contractors, and subcontractors.

+ Preferred knowledge of launch vehicle structures and mechanical systems.

+ Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and information technology systems and databases, including Jira and Confluence.
