Project Financial Accountant

with responsibilities for the accounting and administrative aspects of client projects by ensuring they are completed on time and accurately and in accordance with STRATA’s Core Values, Shared Mission and Vision, policies, and in accordance with STRATA’s geotechnical standard of care, management practices, and Quality Management System (QMS). Completes work with accuracy, attention to detail, and with professionalism by setting up projects in the Ajera system, reviewing contract documents, preparing/analyzing/reviewing project invoices, and providing project management support for large and small STRATA projects. Provides excellent customer service to clients, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and co-workers. Skills & Abilities / Work Experience Required (and Preferred) 3+ years of project accounting experience (with working knowledge of the A/E industry desirable including understanding of costs and associated revenue sources). High School diploma or G.E.D. (Associate degree in accounting, business, or project management preferred.) Ability to make decisions, analyze data, and provide solutions to problems. Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiency at an intermediate level. Excellent writing and organizational skills (including completing tasks by stated deadlines). Accuracy and acute attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Team oriented and able to assess and reprioritize workload to meet multiple deadlines. High degree of professionalism. Ability to keep sensitive material/information confidential and on a need-to-know basis. Ability to adhere to safety procedures, administrative and operating procedures, and contracts. Adherence to STRATA’s drug and alcohol policy. Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record. Familiarity with the A/E industry preferred. Deltek Ajera and MetaField previous experience desired. Knowledge of Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) and/or Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) forms, requirements, regulations, and billing procedures highly desired. Set up contracts/projects, monitor project progress and compliance, project closeout, and filing. Assist with contract review, process contract amendments, and consultant agreements and amendments. Prepare monthly invoices in accordance with contract requirements, review sub-consultant invoices for accuracy, compliance, and system entry. Provide invoices to respective project managers for approval. Send correct and professional invoices to clients. Update project budgets, track project billing status, and monitor receivables. Provide reimbursable documentation for monthly client billing. Reconciliation of consultant billing and authorized budgets. Research and track unpaid consultant and vendor invoices. Communicate payment status to consultants and vendors. Assist project managers with project planning, monitoring project budgets, and tracking consultant progress. Provide project managers with timely financial reports. Review and process account payables and expenses in accordance with established protocol. Review and audit weekly Expense Reports for receipt documentation and compliance with office expense policy. Develop efficient processes and audits of invoices to capture accurate and timely information. Manage and track each office’s credit cards and reconcile monthly statements. Review weekly timesheets to ensure staff has coded their time correctly. Participate in Monthly/Yearly Accounting closeout duties as assigned. Continually assess existing procedures and increase efficiency when possible. Assist in MetaField and Ajera integration as needed. Perform additional general accounting tasks and special projects as needed.
