Summary: The ideal candidate will have experience managing all programmatic aspects of multi-million-dollar grant programs, including awarding, monitoring, and project closeout. They should also be able to provide technical assistance regarding grant program requirements and policy. Responsibilities: What will I do in this position if hired? In this Grants Management Specialist position, you will serve as a Grants Management Specialist in the Maui Joint Recovery Office, supporting the delivery of the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) program. Typical assignments include: Leading application reviews of project proposals and providing assessments of conformance with applicable guidelines for program eligibility and reasonableness of costs in the budget. Ensuring that awards are issued in accordance with grant requirements and agency policies and procedures. Preparing final award packages to include the award letter, agreement articles, special conditions, and obligating documents, and routing through concurrence process and financial systems. Responding to inquiries from stakeholders through written and verbal means and obtaining subject matter expert and/or legal review, as needed. Explaining, promoting, and educating applicants/recipients (for instance, State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial partners) on grant development and grants management best practice topics through training and outreach activities. Engaging customers and partners through oral and written communication to build support and ensure programs, projects, and services meet their expectations. Qualifications: To qualify for this Grants Management Specialist position at the IC-11 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-09 level in the Federal government. This experience must demonstrate the following: Administering or managing grants related to federal assistance programs. Applying laws, regulations, and policies to disaster grants management operations. Drafting, reviewing, and delivering reports related to grants management activities. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.M. OR Combination of education and experience. Additional Information: This position is for a CORE (Cadre of On-Call Response/Recovery Employee). CORE employees are full-time employees hired to directly support the response and recovery efforts related to disasters. This position has promotion potential to grade 12. #J-18808-Ljbffr
