UTHealth Houston is a leader in healthcare education, innovation, and patient care. We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Grants & Contracts Specialist within the Department of Neurology.

As a Grants & Contracts Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting our research initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing both pre and post-award grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations and institutional policies.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Principal Investigators in the administration of grants and contracts throughout their lifecycle.
  • Analyze grant proposals and contracts for compliance with specific conditions and requirements.
  • Provide guidance to researchers regarding funding opportunities and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain communication with funding agencies to ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports and documentation as required by funding sources.
  • Facilitate the close-out process for grants and contracts, ensuring all financial and administrative tasks are completed.
  • Develop and maintain records of assets acquired through grant funding.

Qualifications:
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in database management and spreadsheet applications.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in grants and contracts administration.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.

Residency Requirement:

Candidates must reside and work in the State of Texas.
