Position Overview:

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is seeking a dedicated Grants Management Specialist focused on Mitigation. Key Responsibilities:
  • Support senior personnel in evaluating project proposal applications and assessing compliance with relevant guidelines regarding program eligibility and budgetary appropriateness.
  • Assist in ensuring that grant awards are issued in alignment with established requirements and agency protocols.
  • Contribute to the development of final award documentation, including award letters, agreement articles, special conditions, and necessary obligating documents, ensuring proper routing through the required approval processes.
  • Address inquiries from stakeholders through both written and verbal communication, coordinating with subject matter experts and legal advisors as necessary.
  • Facilitate education and outreach efforts for applicants and recipients, including State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial partners, on best practices in grant development and management.
  • Monitor stakeholder engagement through effective communication strategies to foster support and ensure that programs and services align with their expectations.

Essential Requirements:
  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory for consideration.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government travel card is necessary.
  • Selective service registration is required for males born after December 31, 1959.
  • Willingness to travel may be required.

Qualifications:

To be eligible for the Grants Management Specialist (Mitigation) role at the IC-07 level, candidates must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the IC-05 level within the Federal government. This experience should demonstrate:

  • Involvement in the implementation and oversight of grants management programs.
  • Utilization of research techniques to assess program materials, including audit reports and regulations.
  • Proficiency in writing and editing technical documents or reports.

Education Considerations:

This position allows for qualification based on educational achievements (or a combination of education and experience) as detailed in the requirements section.
