ERAT members assist ships in developing sound engineering practices and good material condition which leads to successful Inspection Surveys (INSURVs), Light off Assessments (LOAs), and Equipment Operational Capabilities (EOCs). The Marine Engineering Analyst is part of a dynamic team of Navy Subject Matter Experts in Norfolk, VA. In this role, you will: Provide primarily Supply and Habitability material assessment support and crew training to U.S. Navy ships, located in both CONUS and OCONUS. Review, evaluate, assess and advise commands on the overall status of material that relate to Damage Control, Auxiliary, and main propulsion equipment and systems. Communicate and serve as an instructor and mentor to officers and enlisted Sailors. Provide commands with feedback to facilitate successful crew move aboard as ships prepare to transition out of maintenance availabilities during yard periods or to identify areas in need of attention prior to readiness evaluations by the respective ISIC or INSURV inspections. Assist in developing class equipment trends and commonalities assist visit results and provide recommendations for improvements that can be implemented in acquisition and/or availability planning. Work directly with ships force in planning and prioritizing maintenance actions, which will lead to material improvement. Conduct shipboard surveys, prioritize repairs, and train ships force. Provide written assessments of material condition, crew knowledge, and Engineering systems readiness, to the ship and the ship’s chain of command. Make recommendations for providing additional TYCOM assistance if needed and participate in events to capture Lessons Learned and process issues to improve combat readiness. Draft and submit technical feedback reports (TFBR) and PMS FBRs as necessary to contribute to current fleet readiness. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will have: BA/BS or associate degree, and 3 years of demonstrated experience within the last 5 years. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 3 years applicable work experience. Active Secret Security Clearance required. Sponsorship is not available. Must have experience in providing training and assessments at the senior technical level. Ability to travel 50% Additional desired experience and skills: Graduate of the associated Navy A and C schools and be considered an expert in the Damage Control, Auxiliary, and Main Propulsion field. Minimum 20 years Navy experience as an E-7 or above. Maintenance/training staff experience (e.g. Immediate Superior In Charge (ISIC), Type Commander (TYCOM), or Afloat Training Group). Navy shipboard experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). #J-18808-Ljbffr
