POSITION SUMMARY

HR Associate performs essential Employee Lifecycle related tasks and reports to HR Supervisor. HR Associate is responsible for Driver Status and PPD Compliance projects and works with Recruiting Associates to initiate employment process for FREE Inc. prospective new hires. In addition, HR Associate provides support where needed with various tasks across the HR Support function.

Responsibilities:

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Owns and is responsible for different HR projects, including but not limited to:
    • DMV: reviews and processes daily updates from Motor Vehicle Reports such as changing Driver Status in HRIS, notifying programs of changes, collecting acknowledgment forms; documenting and processing Behind the Wheel forms; collaborating with HRIS team to ensure Driver Status related pay changes are processed timely; monitors, follows up and processes speeding alerts; performs other Driver Status related tasks
    • PPD compliance: takes a lead role with PPD tracking, scheduling and follow-up. Collaborates with Nursing, CLPD and HR Support to ensure PPD compliance tasks and suspensions are done in a timely manner.
  • Provides administrative support with processing employee life cycle files.
  • Possesses full knowledge of HR Support practices/workflows and provides support & back-up as needed.
  • Possesses full knowledge of the complete onboarding process, including all required background checks and other pre-employment requirements.
  • Processes and extends employment offers.
  • Schedules collection appointments, collects and manages all required pre-offer documentation.
  • Answers, screens and forwards incoming phone calls.
  • Assists with managing HR Support Inbox and answers HR Support emails.
  • Ensures that all required documentation (paper and electronic) is completed /processed appropriately, in a timely manner, and meets quality and compliance thresholds.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Meets all safety training requirements; adheres to all safety policies and reports any and all unsafe conditions; takes measures to prevent accidents and/or eliminate conditions that pose a safety or health risk.
  • Coordinates, supports, attends and participates in all required events/ meetings/ reviews/ committees, including ones outside of standard working hours.
  • Meets all job requirements and stays in compliance.
  • Adheres to FREEs standard of ethical behavior as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct as well as applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:
    • Hight School Diploma or equivalent required
    • College Degree preferred
  • Experience:
    • Some relevant experience strongly preferred
    • An appropriate combination of education, experience, and training will be considered
  • Specialized Training, Licenses, Certifications:
    • Not required, training will be provided upon hire as needed
  • Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities:
    • Proficient computer skills required, especially Microsoft Office Suite
    • Proficient writing skills with grasp of basic grammar and spelling
    • Must be efficient, well organized, and have excellent communication skills
    • Basic understanding of federal and state laws and regulations related to employment
    • Ability to work in a team environment with flexibility, keeping others informed and anticipating needs is essential
    • Ability to work independently and take initiative
    • Ability to prioritize assignments and perform problem solving consistent with the level of independence associated with this position
    • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and follow up as needed to complete the assigned projects within time constraints
  • Other Requirements:
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is performed in-person, in a standard office setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Employee is required to sit, walk and stand for prolonged period of time (at least 8 hours).
  • Employee is required to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Employee is required to operate standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax and filing cabinets.
  • Employee might be required to move/lift light items.

The Pay Range for this job is $24.04 - $24.52. This range is based on what FREE reasonably believes it will pay an employee as for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors, including, but not limited to, an individuals experience, qualifications, services provided, geographic location, relevant skills, and other factors permitted under federal, state, and local laws.
