Human Resources Assistant

ACLD, a prominent not-for-profit organization founded in 1957, is dedicated to providing essential services for individuals with developmental disabilities. With a workforce of over 1300 employees and more than 70 program locations across Nassau and Suffolk, our mission is to assist children, teens, and adults in attaining their fullest potential and independence.

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join our team. This role will focus on the initial screening of potential candidates and providing administrative support to the Human Resources Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct phone screenings and manage communication with applicants through various channels.
  • Monitor and review Driver's License reports to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  • Assist in posting job openings on HRIS platforms and various recruitment channels.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR team, including managing phone inquiries, maintaining files, and performing data entry tasks.
  • Support reference checks and background investigations as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous office experience is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

This position offers a flexible schedule of 30 hours per week, with eligibility for benefits.

Compensation: Starting at $16.00 per hour.
