POSITION SUMMARY

The HR Associate plays a crucial role in managing essential Employee Lifecycle tasks and reports directly to the HR Supervisor. This position is responsible for overseeing Driver Status and PPD Compliance initiatives and collaborates with Recruiting Associates to facilitate the employment process for prospective hires at FREE Inc. Additionally, the HR Associate provides support across various HR functions as needed.

Responsibilities

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Takes ownership of various HR projects, including but not limited to:
    • Driver Status: Reviews and processes daily updates from Motor Vehicle Reports, manages Driver Status changes in HRIS, notifies relevant programs, collects acknowledgment forms, documents Behind the Wheel forms, and collaborates with the HRIS team to ensure timely processing of Driver Status-related pay changes. Monitors and follows up on speeding alerts and performs other related tasks.
    • PPD Compliance: Leads the tracking, scheduling, and follow-up of PPD compliance tasks, working closely with Nursing, CLPD, and HR Support to ensure timely completion of compliance requirements.
  • Provides administrative assistance in processing employee lifecycle documentation.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of HR Support practices and workflows, offering support and backup as necessary.
  • Understands the complete onboarding process, including all required background checks and pre-employment requirements.
  • Processes and extends employment offers to candidates.
  • Schedules collection appointments and manages all necessary pre-offer documentation.
  • Answers, screens, and forwards incoming phone calls effectively.
  • Assists in managing the HR Support Inbox and responds to HR Support emails.
  • Ensures all required documentation is completed and processed accurately and timely, meeting quality and compliance standards.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

  • Completes all safety training requirements and follows safety policies, reporting any unsafe conditions.
  • Participates in all required events, meetings, and committees, including those outside standard working hours.
  • Meets all job requirements and maintains compliance.
  • Upholds FREE's ethical standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct, as well as applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; College Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Relevant experience is strongly preferred; a combination of education, experience, and training will be considered.
  • Specialized Training, Licenses, Certifications: Not required; training will be provided upon hire as needed.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities: Proficient computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office Suite; strong writing skills with a grasp of basic grammar and spelling; must be organized and possess excellent communication skills; basic understanding of employment-related federal and state laws; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; ability to work independently and take initiative; ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Other Requirements: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is performed in-person within a standard office setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Employee is required to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods (at least 8 hours).
  • Employee must effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Employee is required to operate standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
  • Employee may need to move or lift light items.

COMPENSATION

The Pay Range for this position is $24.52. This range reflects what FREE reasonably anticipates paying for this role at the time of posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on various relevant factors, including experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic location.
