FREE offers a comprehensive range of services, including housing, recovery programs, employment transition, community support, educational initiatives, and advocacy.

POSITION SUMMARY

The HR Associate plays a crucial role in managing essential tasks related to the Employee Lifecycle and reports directly to the HR Supervisor. This position is responsible for overseeing Driver Status and PPD Compliance initiatives and collaborates with Recruiting Associates to facilitate the employment process for prospective candidates. Additionally, the HR Associate provides support across various HR functions as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and oversee various HR projects, including but not limited to:
    • DMV Management: Review and process daily updates from Motor Vehicle Reports, including changes to Driver Status in the HRIS, notifying relevant programs, collecting acknowledgment forms, and processing Behind the Wheel documentation. Collaborate with the HRIS team to ensure timely processing of Driver Status-related pay changes and monitor speeding alerts.
    • PPD Compliance: Take a lead role in tracking, scheduling, and following up on PPD compliance tasks. Work collaboratively with Nursing, CLPD, and HR Support to ensure timely completion of PPD compliance activities.
  • Provide administrative support in processing employee lifecycle documentation.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of HR Support practices and workflows, offering assistance and backup as required.
  • Understand the complete onboarding process, including all necessary background checks and pre-employment requirements.
  • Process and extend employment offers to candidates.
  • Schedule collection appointments and manage all required pre-offer documentation.
  • Handle incoming phone calls by answering, screening, and forwarding as necessary.
  • Assist in managing the HR Support Inbox and respond to HR Support emails.
  • Ensure that all required documentation is completed and processed accurately and in a timely manner, meeting quality and compliance standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; College Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Relevant experience strongly preferred; a combination of education, experience, and training will be considered.
  • Skills and Competencies: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, strong writing skills, well-organized, excellent communication skills, basic understanding of employment-related laws, ability to work collaboratively and independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Other Requirements: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is performed in-person within a standard office setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods (at least 8 hours).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in operating standard office equipment, including computers and phones.
  • Ability to move or lift light items as needed.
