POSITION SUMMARY

The HR Associate plays a crucial role in managing key Employee Lifecycle processes and reports directly to the HR Supervisor. This position is responsible for overseeing Driver Status and PPD Compliance initiatives and collaborates with Recruiting Associates to facilitate the employment process for prospective candidates at FREE Inc. Additionally, the HR Associate provides essential support across various HR functions as needed.

Responsibilities

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Takes ownership of various HR projects, including but not limited to:
    • Driver Status: Reviews and processes daily updates from Motor Vehicle Reports, such as updating Driver Status in HRIS, notifying relevant programs of changes, collecting acknowledgment forms, documenting and processing Behind the Wheel forms, and collaborating with the HRIS team to ensure timely processing of Driver Status-related pay changes. Monitors and follows up on speeding alerts and performs other related tasks.
    • PPD Compliance: Leads the tracking, scheduling, and follow-up of PPD compliance. Works closely with Nursing, CLPD, and HR Support to ensure timely completion of PPD compliance tasks and any necessary suspensions.
  • Provides administrative assistance in processing employee lifecycle documentation.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of HR Support practices and workflows, offering support and backup as necessary.
  • Understands the complete onboarding process, including all required background checks and pre-employment criteria.
  • Processes and extends job offers to candidates.
  • Schedules appointments for document collection and manages all necessary pre-offer paperwork.
  • Answers, screens, and forwards incoming phone inquiries.
  • Assists in managing the HR Support Inbox and responds to HR Support emails.
  • Ensures that all required documentation, both paper and electronic, is completed and processed accurately and in a timely manner, meeting quality and compliance standards.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

  • Completes all safety training requirements and complies with safety policies, reporting any unsafe conditions and taking proactive measures to prevent accidents.
  • Participates in all required events, meetings, and committees, including those outside of standard working hours.
  • Meets all job expectations and remains compliant with organizational standards.
  • Upholds FREE's ethical standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct, as well as applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; College Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Relevant experience is strongly preferred; a suitable combination of education, experience, and training will be considered.
  • Specialized Training, Licenses, Certifications: Not required; training will be provided upon hire as necessary.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities: Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite; strong writing skills with a solid grasp of grammar and spelling; must be organized, efficient, and possess excellent communication skills; basic understanding of federal and state employment laws; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while remaining flexible and proactive; ability to work independently and take initiative; adept at prioritizing tasks and solving problems; capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and following up as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Other Requirements: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is performed in-person within a standard office environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Employee is required to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods (at least 8 hours).
  • Employee must effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Employee is required to operate standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines, and filing cabinets.
  • Employee may need to move or lift light items.

The Pay Range for this position is $24.52. This range reflects what FREE reasonably anticipates it will pay for this role at the time of posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on various relevant factors, including experience, qualifications, services provided, geographic location, relevant skills, and other factors permitted under applicable laws.
