FREE offers a comprehensive range of services, including housing, recovery support, job transition services, employment opportunities, community engagement, family assistance, respite care, crisis intervention, educational programs, and advocacy initiatives.
POSITION SUMMARY
The HR Associate plays a vital role in managing key Employee Lifecycle activities and reports directly to the HR Supervisor. This position is accountable for overseeing Driver Status and PPD Compliance initiatives and collaborates with Recruiting Associates to facilitate the employment process for prospective candidates at FREE Inc. Additionally, the HR Associate provides assistance across various HR Support functions as required.
Responsibilities
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Takes ownership of various HR projects, including but not limited to:
- Driver Status: Reviews and processes daily updates from Motor Vehicle Reports, modifies Driver Status in HRIS, informs programs of changes, collects acknowledgment forms, documents and processes Behind the Wheel forms, collaborates with the HRIS team to ensure timely processing of Driver Status-related pay changes, monitors and follows up on speeding alerts, and performs other Driver Status-related tasks.
- PPD Compliance: Leads the tracking, scheduling, and follow-up of PPD compliance, working closely with Nursing, CLPD, and HR Support to ensure timely completion of PPD compliance tasks and suspensions.
- Provides administrative support in processing employee lifecycle documentation.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of HR Support practices and workflows, offering support and backup as necessary.
- Demonstrates thorough understanding of the complete onboarding process, including all necessary background checks and pre-employment requirements.
- Processes and extends job offers to candidates.
- Schedules collection appointments and manages all required pre-offer documentation.
- Answers, screens, and forwards incoming phone inquiries.
- Assists in managing the HR Support Inbox and responds to HR Support emails.
- Ensures all required documentation (both paper and electronic) is completed and processed accurately and promptly, meeting quality and compliance standards.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; College Degree preferred.
- Experience: Relevant experience is strongly preferred; a suitable combination of education, experience, and training will be considered.
- Specialized Training, Licenses, Certifications: Not required; training will be provided upon hire as needed.
- Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities: Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite; strong writing skills with a solid grasp of grammar and spelling; must be organized and possess excellent communication skills; basic understanding of federal and state employment laws; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while being flexible and proactive; capacity to work independently and take initiative; adept at prioritizing tasks and solving problems; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow up as necessary to meet deadlines.
- Other Requirements: Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role is performed in-person within a standard office environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Employee is required to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods (at least 8 hours).

The Pay Range for this position is $24.52. This range reflects FREE's reasonable belief regarding compensation for this role at the time of posting.
