To be successful in this role, you have shown a demonstrated track record in conscientious work and meeting client and agency expectations, as well as the ability to work effectively with senior management. You also have established proven and trusted relationships with existing media contacts, regional, national, and associated press and trade outlets. In this role, you will be juggling multiple projects so you must be self-motivated, have a positive attitude, and be a strong team player while demonstrating complete ownership of projects from start to finish, including strategic thinking. Essential Responsibilities/Duties: You will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with our portfolio of clients, crafting new stories and angles, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders, acting as the liaison between clients and cross-functional internal teams -- all to ensure timely and successful accomplishment of our clients’ objectives. Owning multiple clients from start to finish and assisting Account Directors, Vice President and CEO on other accounts Maintain client relationships with the public, media and targeted communities Implementation of key initiatives that include press releases, editorial pieces, awards, speaking engagements, grassroots initiatives, and management of key programs Assist with media inquiries, including communication of brand positioning and messaging during media interviews, scheduling and media briefs Collaborate with the leadership team to establish goals, objectives, and strategies for client campaigns Create and broaden our media lists and develop relationships with reporters -- from local, regional, national and trade, plus analysts, and other industry influencers Monitor local and national news and craft new pitches regularly based on current stories and trends Create relationships with trade journals and publications to ensure client visibility is maintained in key channels Study demographic data and news trends DAILY to identify desired target audiences for print, broadcast, online and social media outlets Evaluate editorial content and audience composition of a wide range of media vehicles to determine which would most effectively reach target audience Participate in the development of editorial pieces as they relate to product releases or client objectives Take the lead on social media for clients, as well as for Project Mockingbird accounts Implement new strategies to ensure communications are in concert with new technologies, including social media Monitor and manage reporting functionalities for all clients using our software platform, Critical Mention Requirements: Five years of PR agency experience Bachelor’s degree required Excellent storytelling and strategic PR abilities required High level writing experience for pitches, press releases, case studies, whitepapers, reports, and business correspondence Superior oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, and presentation skills, as well as analytical and effective problem-solving skills Ability to travel locally.
