Pete'sTire Barns was started by Peter A. Gerry in 1968 and has grown to one of thelargest independent tire dealerships in the country. Pete's currently operates22 full-service locations in New England, a state-of-the art DistributionCenter, 3 Bandag retread facilities, employs in excess of 300 people, andoperates a fleet of over 100 service and delivery vehicles. Today,approximately 90% of our business is in the commercial truck tire and relatedmarkets. Pete's services everything from awheelbarrow tire up to an earthmover tire.
Weare looking for a dedicated and experienced HR Generalist to join our team. TheHR Generalist will be responsible for managing various HR functions, includingFMLA administration, workers' compensation, employee relations, performancemanagement, compensation and benefits administration, and HR policies andprocedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR operations,with specific expertise in FMLA compliance, workers' compensation management,and a proven track record of supporting employee relations and developmentinitiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an HR Generalist or similar role
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred but not required
- Valid Driver'sLicense and clean driving record required
- Strong knowledge of FMLA regulations, workers' compensation laws, and HR best practices.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive employee relations issues with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficiency with or the ability to learn new software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Coordinates workers' compensation processes, including injury reporting, claim management, and return-to-work programs.
- Manages the administration of FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act), including eligibility determination, leave tracking, and compliance with FMLA regulations.
- Develops and maintains HR policies and procedures to support organizational goals and ensure consistency.
- Administers and manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
- Coordinates open enrollment processes, including communication with employees, enrollment system management, and vendor coordination.
- Appropriately handles employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and assists with workplace investigations.
- Conducts research and analysis, including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to the organization.
- Maintains accurate HR records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and data security.
