Human Resources Specialist - Staffing Sector

The Human Resources Specialist remains informed about updates in employment legislation and organizational policies, procedures, and programs. This role encompasses responsibilities in various areas, including departmental growth, employee relations, off-site training, and development. Additionally, the Specialist oversees employee health benefits and must possess a solid understanding of employment laws and practices. A high degree of professionalism and confidentiality is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Administers diverse human resources plans and procedures for all personnel; aids in the formulation and execution of personnel policies and procedures; contributes to the annual revision and preparation of the employee handbook.

· Maintains awareness of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions, ensuring compliance in policies, procedures, and reporting.

· Generates labor reports and census reports as assigned.

· Willingness to travel within the designated geographic area to conduct training, with flexibility to schedule training during non-traditional hours as needed.

· Manages benefits administration in collaboration with the company broker, including claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees.

· May be tasked with conducting the onboarding process for new hires, possessing knowledge of I9, Notice To Employee, Arbitration, and Confidentiality Agreements.

· Provides employee relations counseling, outplacement support, and conducts exit interviews.

· Organizes weekly administrative staff meetings and participates in other meetings as required.

· Maintains employee files and relevant documentation.

· Develops and manages a monthly newsletter.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Ability to effectively engage with staff at all organizational levels.

· Minimum of 3 years experience as an HR Specialist, with a focus on employee relations and communications.

· Knowledgeable about Federal, State, and local regulations and codes, including OSHA.

· Proficient in office software and computer-based tools such as Word and Excel.

· Demonstrated facilitation and conflict resolution skills.

· Excellent organizational capabilities.

· Understanding of effective team-building strategies and team dynamics.

· Strong analytical thinking skills.

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.

· Ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion, empathy, and professionalism.

Human Resources Department (Staffing Sector)

Experience: 1-3 years of experience preferred.
