Job Summary:

Responsible for the operational oversight of the HHC Lab Quality Management program. In conjunction with the System Director, participates in the development and implementation of a comprehensive Quality Management program for the system labs that focuses on patient experience, safety, and performance and process improvement. Promotes a culture of quality throughout the laboratory and collaborates regularly with site management staff to ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance and overall quality of services. Job Responsibilities Develops (in conjunction with the System Director) and implements the Laboratory Quality Management Plan for the system; works with local entities, as well as regional and system solutions. Monitor proficiency testing performance across all HHC Laboratories. Share quality improvements and opportunities to all sites. Assist sites with issues. Maintains and assists lab leadership with laboratory compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agency requirements. Performs audits and inspections of all laboratory facilities/locations to ensure regulatory compliance. Attends on-site regulatory and accreditation inspections. Obtains regulatory inspection findings from the HHC labs; organizes findings; works with the local lab staff on inspection responses to ensure a system standard response; disseminates findings and responses to all laboratories. Is an active member of the Quality Lab Standardization Team; participates in regularly scheduled meetings; encourages system standardization as appropriate. Actively participates in the monthly local (regional or hospital-based) lab Quality meetings; provides feedback at these meetings and encourages the implementation of standard work when appropriate. Assists sites with the formation of CAP self-inspection teams. Responsible for ensuring complete documentation of CAP self-inspection is maintained, including corrective actions. Coordinates external CAP inspection teams alongside System Director and site Medical Director. Participates in the tracking of annual KPI’s and quality indicators for the system labs and helps guide data-driven decision-making. Provide leadership in the maintenance of a safety culture throughout the labs by spreading safety concepts and emphasizing continuous learning. Assist sites with Document Control training, issues, and maintenance as needed. Actively participates in the ongoing Lean Daily Huddles throughout the system labs. Attends local/regional QAPIC and HHC System Quality meetings. Travel required- must have reliable transportation. Must display exemplary H3W leadership behaviors. Performs all other duties as assigned. Qualifications B.S. in Biology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology Five (5) years working as a tech in a clinical lab MT (ASCP) eligible, attains certification within 12 months of hire
