Procurement Associate

**Position Summary**
At Houseables, we exist to make everyday life a little more convenient by procuring and designing high-quality household goods to be sold across the e-commerce sphere. The Procurement Associate supports our purpose by managing and aligning the product sourcing process with our product sales strategy. The Procurement Associate will also impact the company's success by researching product opportunities, negotiating the best price possible with suppliers, and ensuring supply chain delivery timelines are met.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Guide products along each phase of the product sourcing process, ordering 3-5 new products per month
- Filter through product research lists to generate new product ideas
- Evaluate product viability by conducting market research, competitor research, customer research and demand forecasting
- Filter and decide among prospective suppliers, ensuring quality and cost expectations will be met
- Assist with sourcing cost reduction plan, including meeting cost targets and negotiating prices from suppliers
- Calculate sales and profit estimates by comparing unit cost, shipping fees, and selling price
- Prepare proposals, final checklists and purchase orders
- Present research analysis to management by preparing reports, charts, and graphs
- Identify delays in sample and production process to decrease overall production times
- Coordinate with supply chain and other departments to ensure that goods are delivered on time and in good condition
- Resolve any sample quality issues or supplier issues
- Maintain accurate procurement records
- Maintain and centralize supplier contracts and database
- Other duties as required
**Education and Certifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a relevant field is preferred
**Qualifications & Experience**
- 1+ years of experience in product purchasing, supply management, or in a related role is preferred
- Knowledge of supplier management and invoicing systems
- Good understanding of material resource planning systems
- Strong negotiation skills
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin

**Note**:Remote or hybrid work arrangements are both acceptable for this position.
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
