Overview:


The Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in managing all procurement activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize efficiency and align both short-term and long-term category strategies.

This position is responsible for developing a comprehensive global category strategy that encompasses cost, quality, delivery, and supply base considerations, specifically focusing on Site Equipment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and manage open orders.
  • Generate purchase orders following approval protocols.
  • Create and manage requisitions.
  • Issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) to suppliers and monitor inventory levels for both East and West locations.
  • Verify requisition requests for accuracy and prepare purchase orders for suppliers/vendors.
  • Assess inventory levels to determine material needs and place orders as necessary.
  • Engage with suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and address any shortages or delivery issues.
  • Maintain and review purchasing documentation, reports, and pricing lists.
  • Process Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) requests post-approval from the Procurement Manager.
  • Conduct strategic procurement activities across various purchasing categories to enhance sourcing and profit margins.
  • Build and sustain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure efficient goods flow and maintain effective communication.
  • Keep organized records of purchasing orders and electronic files alongside original documents.
  • Support the procurement department with scheduling and organizational tasks.
  • Assist in generating weekly and monthly reports as well as month-end procedures.
  • Provide support to Sales representatives for both domestic and international purchasing needs.
  • Contact manufacturers for RFQs and relay information to Sales representatives promptly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 1 year of ERP experience.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficient in Windows software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAGE.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Associate's Degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant procurement experience.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups.
