**THE POSITION**:
**DESCRIPTION OF WORK**:

- As an Accountant 1, your will be responsible for auditing statutory compliance for a variety of restricted credit programs and assist with the preparation of various financial reports. This work is essential for our accountability to the legislature, other agencies, and the general public. You will analyze and evaluate all financial transactions posted to corporate ledger accounts, with an emphasis on identifying errors and ensuring compliance with division objectives, statutory requirements, and department objectives.
- Other responsibilities include maintaining written narratives of all division operating procedures, providing recommendations for improvements to existing systems, and serving as liaison to other divisions, bureaus, and agencies to promote efficiency for new or existing restricted credit programs. You will also have the opportunity to assist with general account maintenance functions and special projects as necessary. **Work Schedule and Additional Information**:

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are a choice between 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with a 60-minute lunch, **or** 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch, Monday - Friday.
- ** Telework**:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with one day per month required in office. In office training may be required. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- ** Salary**:_ _**In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY**:
**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Minimum Experience and Training Requirements**:

- Successful completion of the Commonwealth's Accounting Intern Program; **or**:

- One year as a Financial Programs Trainee; **or**:

- One year as a Fiscal Technician, and fifteen college credits in accounting; **or**:

- Five years of Bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting; **or**:

- A Bachelor's Degree including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
