Since 1889, the Cambridge Public Library has been a place of learning and community where all are welcome to expand their horizons. Through the Main Library and six neighborhood branches — Boudreau, Central Square, Collins, O’Connell, O’Neill, and Valente — the Library operates as a unified system to offer free library services and programs to residents.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
Under the guidance of the Digital Equity Manager, the Digital Equity Coordinator plans and supports a dynamic slate of Digital Equity programs, events, and collaborations in line with the City’s Digital Equity Initiative.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**_Digital Equity Program Coordination:_**
- Work with Digital Equity Manager to design lessons and develop lesson materials for Digital Equity programs including technology classes and informational workshops and train staff on delivery of lessons.
- Facilitate, deliver, and/or assist in delivering Digital Equity programs including technology classes and informational workshops.
- Coordinate with library staff and City departments to organize Digital Equity offerings by handling room setup, audiovisual equipment, live streaming, refreshments, instructor payment, and other program logistics. May greet and introduce presenters, guests, and volunteers.
- Manage event timelines and assigned budgets; track expenditures relating to Digital Equity
- May recruit and coordinate Digital Equity volunteers, grant-funded positions, and/or interns
- May research and coordinate external instructors for digital equity programming

**_Digital Equity Outreach and Promotion:_**
- Work with Digital Equity Manager to develop and implement Digital Equity publicity, marketing, and outreach. Write promotional copy and coordinate with other staff to create and disseminate print and digital promotions.
- Support the building of strong relationships between the Library Digital Equity Team and City departments, community groups, universities, and other stakeholders
- Reaches out to the community to invite and engage a diverse group of people to participate in digital equity programs, especially residents who are under-resourced and/or underrepresented
- Trains staff on new digital equity related technology and software and effective pedagogy; develops and implements technology training, instruction plans, and materials

**_Patron Service and General Responsibilities:_**
- Instructs patrons in the use of digital equity related library resources, tools, and technology; Engages library users in working with technology
- Provides basic computer and technology maintenance, including troubleshooting and providing technical support during hands-on work with learners
- Perform all duties with cultural awareness and humility, recognition of historic and institutional systems of oppression and their impact, and an active commitment to providing equitable services to marginalized or underserved populations in Cambridge.
- May provide patron technology assistance at the Tech Bar, the Main Library's public computing space, and at other library branch locations as needed.
- Other duties as required for the good of the Library.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**:
**_Education and Experience:_***
- A bachelor's degree or coursework beyond high school level.
- Two years of experience in teaching, technology instruction, event planning, library programming and/or community work. In exceptional instances, specialized education, training and/or experience may be substituted for part or all of the required elements.
